Senior photography always presents me with new exciting challenges. And I absolutely love shooting something I have never done before. Yall, never have a I ever photographed someone with a large brass instrument! I couldn’t have pictured it other than my small general knowledge. I asked this young man and his mom to meet me at Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth. They let me know he was wanting to bring his tuba to the shoot, and I was more than excited to capture this for him! However, I didn’t realize just how big a tuba is. Can you say “whoops?”. I remember looking up to see this giant instrument strapped to his back as they approached me. People watching from afar. Politely asking him if he would play them a song. Too bad he didn’t bring a tip jar to ear a few dollars while busting out a tune!
And to think, he stepped out onto the football field for his last football game performance this past fall. All the hours and years of practice accumulated to this moment. Im always amazed at how much effort and commitment kids give to their sports, even more so when you throw in a musical instrument. I’m telling you! These kids are dedicated! I guarantee you they have built so much character from the challenges they have faced within perfecting choreography and music. Thank you for letting me be apart of your story and teaching me a little something new! There’s only a few more months until graduation! Soak it all in, it’ll be over before you know it. I can’t wait to see where you’ll be next year! You’ll do great. 🙂
