Southlake Carroll Varsity Cheer is quite the team. They are all hard working individuals who uphold so many legendary traditions and carry on the Dragon legacy. We do a senior group shoot at the beginning of the season for the girls to take their individual banner shots. Of course, grabbing a few cute group pics to kick off the year together.
Looking back at this shoot and reflecting over everything this past year, its really wild and hard to fathom just everything this team went through. We had no idea when we took these photos what this year would bring…. the heart ache, wins, losses and struggles each of these athletes would face, both individually and as a team. On and off the mat. Wow, what a year, what a team.
After seeing all their challenges I gotta say, these seniors right here, they’re something fierce. I have spent two full years with them on Varsity, and had the pleasure of working with so many of them outside of football season. From their senior shoots to watching them at their all star cheer comps, I have enjoyed cheering them on in their lives, even without my camera.
To my Dragons, you all will forever hold a special place in my heart. Each of you are so different, and have something wonderful to offer this world. Dragon cheer will never quite be the same without you, but I know you have carried on the Dragon Cheer Legacy beautifully. You fought hard, even when the odds seemed against you. Tenacity is crafted in the heart, it is not a God given talent. And you ladies certainly have that Grit! While Im sad that this season is over and all of you are about to graduate, I know it’s not really a goodbye, just a more ‘see you later’.
Ladies, it’s been real. Love you lots, and happy adulting! You got this. And even when you don’t “got this” you’ll learn and figure it out.
