Y’all, I photographed my first wedding of the year this past weekend… and I must confess, It was such a blast and a huge blessing. There were so many moments throughout Victoria + Michael’s special day that I thought to myself “Wow, this is why I am doing this. This is why I am a wedding photographer”. From her bridesmaids being so wonderful and keeping her comfortable, his grandma and 2 great aunts all showing up together from other parts of the country. Their families, uniting as one and enjoying the night together in celebration of the happy couple. These are the moments that matter. These are the moments that must be captured, must be remembered and must be relived. They are the pockets of joy you dig out when life hits you hard.
As the speeches rolled out, and the tears were had… a very unique Maid of Honor speech was given by her sister, April. “…Blankets…Stuffed animal (dog specifically)….Cookies…Pan…Hanger….” These are some of the items she presented to Michael. These tools are part of the essential survival kit that Michael might need, according to her sister. Each having their own explanation, significance and humor that truly displayed their playful relationship with one another. The families danced, laughed and enjoyed each other until they sent off the newly weds with sparklers! This is the accumulation of so many moments that are worth reliving. This is why I do what I do. To connect with families and capture their relationships and lives, just as they are.
Thank you so much for having me capture your wedding! Have fun on your honeymoon in the caribbean! And please don’t get too sunburned 😉
You & your guests were all such a joy! No better way to spend my Friday than surrounded by fun loving families.
